Great Quote from J.B. Gambrell

Back in 1917 J. B. Gambrell was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Gambrell was affectionately known among his colleagues as “Uncle Gideon.” He had a great wit about it, and was known for his homespun wisdom. The following quote caught my attention:

“More people, one hundred to one, will join in a bear hunt than will turn out to kill a mouse.”

Simply put, big bold visions inspire the masses, but few inspired by insignificant trivia.

As a leader I must “major on the majors” and avoid the trip of majoring on the minors. Let’s face it you never catch Jesus in the gospel getting caught up in the trivia of life. His view was the change the world and He did!

Will you join me on a “bear hunt?”
